A new two day course designed to provide up to date information on a range of subjects which should be of interest to anyone currently involved in delivering road safety interventions or related initiatives. In particular, the first day of the course will include information on the latest collision statistics for Great Britain, how we compare to Europe and will explore the concepts of Safe Systems and Vision Zero. The second day will introduce the background to setting local speed limits and consider a variety of measures, techniques and initiatives which can be employed to manage lower speeds more effectively.

The course consists of informal short lectures with opportunities for delegates to participate through workshops and discussions. It will provide a refresher to anyone who has previously attended the ten day RoSPA Road Safety Engineering course (more than three years ago).  Please note attendance on that course is not a requirement of attending this new keeping up-to date course.

The course is also ideal for qualified Road Safety Auditors who wish to gain their annual two days' CPD required throughout the UK in order to continue to undertake road safety audits on trunk and motorway networks.

Aims and Objectives

The course gives delegates a comprehensive understanding of the current casualty problem in Great Britain and consider how we compare with others in the European Union.  It introduces the concepts of Safe Systems and Vision Zero and explore their origins and their current status in Great Britain.

Delegates completing this course will receive a RoSPA two day CPD certificate of attendance, recognised by both the IHE and CIHT
