Cycle Facilities Audit Workshop

GG 119 requires Road Safety Auditors to maintain their road safety knowledge base by undertaking two days CPD each year once they have achieved their Certificate of Competency. In the year that you achieve your qualification the Certificate of Competency course will provide this, but in subsequent years you will need to undertake further training. This workshop will provide one of the days CPD towards achieving this goal.

Aims and Objectives

The objective of this one day workshop is to provide Road Safety Auditors with some practical experience in auditing cycle facilities, together with the opportunity to discuss current issues within this topic area with other experienced safety auditors.

Topics covered

The programme for the day will include the following topics:

  • Collision data and current cycle facility design guidance
  • Design issues for safety of cyclists
  • Design stage workshops supplied by TMS
  • Stage 3 site visit to a cycle facility
  • Delegate issues – delegates are encouraged to use this opportunity to bring along Road Safety Audits of cycle facilities, to discuss with other auditors. All discussions will be treated in confidence

Delegates completing this course will receive a CPD certificate of attendance.
