The IHE has produced Guidelines on Designing Safer Roads for Motorcyclists to assist Engineers in understanding motorcycling issues. The guide includes advice on highway design and traffic engineering, road safety audit, highway maintenance, and road safety campaigns.
A knowledge of motorcyclists' needs is essential for designers and Road Safety Auditors who are involved in preparing and checking the safety of road schemes.
The course will describe the Guideline's contents in detail, and provide delegates with an understanding of the safety issues regarding motorcycling. Training will be provided by a mixture of short lectures and workshops. Delegates will participate in group workshops thus giving them a 'hands-on' approach to the subject and the confidence to put into practice what they have learnt during the course.
Delegates completing this course will receive a CPD certificate of attendance, recognised by both the IHE and CIHT.
