A Local Authority's Road Safety Plan is a target-led strategic view of the road safety efforts by the various agencies involved. The Plan contains an analysis of casualty data to highlight any particular road safety problems and as a check on progress over a number of years.
TMS has assisted a number of Local Authorities and the Highways Agency with the production of comprehensive Road Safety Plans. This was primarily to co-ordinate resources across multiple agencies to reduce accidents, meet targets and reduce public concern over road safety issues, including Speed Management Plans.
TMS advises organisations on strategies for a range of speed management features such as traffic calming, speed cameras, interactive signing and education and publicity initiatives.
Over the years TMS has completed comprehensive Road Safety Plans for the following organisations:
Within these road safety and speed management plans, targets have also been set which involve the establishment of systems for data extraction, analysis, and monitoring.
