TMS undertake a Stage 3 audit on an experimental pedestrian and cycle scheme in Hove

TMS have recently undertaken a Stage 3 Road Safety Audit on an experimental pedestrian and cycle scheme on Old Shoreham Road, Hove on behalf of Brighton and Hove City Council.

The scheme involved reclaiming former carriageway space (Old Shoreham Road was previously two lanes in both directions - narrowed to just one in each direction) to facilitate 'low kerb edge' cycle lanes east and west bound on Old Shoreham Road from its junctions with Shirley Drive to Dyke Road.

Raised entry treatments are provided across side-road junctions with the cycle lane having priority in these areas. A new raised zebra crossing has been provided near the junction with Chanctonbury Road. Shared use areas are provided through bus stop locations and the zebra crossing.

TMS also carry out specific Cycle Audits and cycle related training courses which are available as open courses and in-house.
