TMS has recently been involved in safety auditing the ongoing public realm improvements in the commercial centre of Hanley, in Stoke-on-Trent. Completed works on Piccadilly and the junction of Pall Mall feature modern designs of multi-toned blockwork and linear patterns, with polished granite benches.
The works have certainly brightened up the high street and added to a sense of place for shoppers and visitors. TMS Graduate Engineer Amy Sutherland visited the completed sections with Technical Director Harminder Aulak and says; “This is a great example of how public realm can be designed for many types of space, to enhance them and make them inviting places to visit. Schemes like this one are really beneficial as part of my training with TMS.”
The public realm improvements are due to be extended to include Trinity Street and the junction with Stafford Street.
