TMS recently provided advice to a Client to improve pedestrian safety outside a school in Rainham, London. This site was visited during school peak times to observe pedestrian behaviour and vehicle movements. TMS made several suggestions, which included improving continuity of footways, provision of crossing points and localised kerb realignments.
Project Engineer Harminder Aulak said:
“TMS has recently provided advice to a number of Clients on how to improve safety for pedestrians outside of schools. This can be an emotive subject, but TMS can offer pragmatic, balanced and independent advice to overcome some of the traffic and pedestrian issues that can occur at schools.”
