TMS has recently completed its final (post construction) road safety audit of a major junction improvement scheme in Derby.
The A6/A5111 Raynesway junction has been grade separated to replace the previous at-grade roundabout. This is to facilitate a commercial park development nearby. The grade separated junction will improve journey time reliability and decrease rush hour congestion, especially when taking into account additional traffic flows associated with the new development.
TMS have carried out all of the road safety audits for this project and have followed the scheme progression from preliminary design in 2007, through to detailed design in 2008, finishing with the post construction audit this year. TMS's input has helped to optimise road safety at this new junction to the benefit of all road users, including pedestrians and cyclists.
