TMS recently completed the final road safety audit on the A8 Belfast to Larne improvement scheme on 6th August 2015. The scheme consisted of upgrading 14km of existing single carriageway to a Dual 2-lane All-Purpose carriageway (D2AP). TMS has been involved in this project since September 2013 when design stage audits were carried out and have seen the new road being built over the last two years.
Safety Audit Team Leader for the whole project Harminder Aulak said:
“It is always a pleasure being involved in a new road scheme from design stage to construction and seeing the final finishing touches being applied before the road is officially opened to the public. This project has been challenging as it consisted of both online and offline improvements, together with numerous compact grade separated junctions. The design and construction has also been phased, requiring numerous safety audits to be carried out within a strict timeframe. We also had a very good working relationship with our direct client for the project “Ferrovial Agroman” with whom we are currently working on a major motorway improvement scheme near Glasgow in Scotland.”
