TMS carried out a VRU audit in Tore village on behalf of Transport Scotland

TMS has recently completed a comprehensive Vulnerable Road User (VRU) Audit in Tore village in the Scottish Highlands on behalf of Transport Scotland.

The VRU audit involved a review of cycle and pedestrian routes, including NCR1, which crosses the A9 Trunk Road at Tore. The review commented on issues of road safety, and also convenience, comfort and continuity of routes for cyclists and pedestrians. A series of recommendations for improvements were made, and presented to both Transport Scotland and to the local Community Council. Transport Scotland is now preparing to implement some of the improvements from the report.

The photo shows Principal Engineer Hammy Aulak checking out signage for NCR1 during the first site visit to Tore.
