The road safety audit workload at TMS has picked up considerably in recent months. In the coming weeks, we'll have safety auditors criss-crossing the country, with safety audits in all areas, ranging from motorway projects near Glasgow, through to development improvements in Bodmin, Cornwall.
The M8/M73/M74 major project will upgrade the core of Scotland's motorway network and will boost Scotland's economy by improving connections between the commercial centres of Glasgow and Edinburgh and beyond. TMS has been commissioned to carry out the preliminary design road safety audits, as well as cycle audits on improvements to local roads.
In Cornwall, a Developer is proposing to improve local roads and provide junctions for a residential development near Bodmin. TMS have been commissioned to carry out safety audits on the proposals, though the timescales for this project will be short with the audit being required within a few days of receiving the information.
Other teams will be visiting sites in Yorkshire, Staffordshire, The Midlands, London and Sussex, with schemes ranging from junction improvements, public realm enhancements, cycle schemes and development layouts.
This is typical for TMS, who cover the entire country when carrying out road safety audits on a huge variety of schemes. We can also respond to urgent audits requests quickly, no matter where they are in the UK.
