TMS was recently commissioned by Devon County Council to undertake some Risk Assessment training for staff from the County Highways Department, together with colleagues from Plymouth City Council.
The Devon staff included some of the “neighbourhood highways officers” who have responsibilities specific to a local area within the county. The risk assessment training focused on site specific risk assessments relevant to road safety activity, and to “walking buses” in particular. The training included a site visit in which an assessment of a walking bus route was undertaken by staff attending the course.
Our photo shows one of the group undertaking the site visit.
TMS Director, Steve Proctor, who undertook the training said:
“ It is always a pleasure to work for Devon County Council, and to use the excellent training facilities provided by the Travel Academy. The delegates on this course were extremely enthusiastic and together we were able to discuss a range of issues with respect to undertaking site based risk assessments”
