TMS is part way through teaching the first Road Safety Audit Certificate of Competency course in Europe.
The course syllabus was adopted by the National Roads Authority (NRA) in June, and the course is being hosted and academically verified by University College Dublin. The qualification involves 5 two day course Units, a multiple choice and written exam, and two individual assignments.
The qualification is fully compliant with the requirements of the European Road Infrastructure Safety Management. The course has 29 candidates, each of whom are hoping to become qualified to undertake RSAs on the Trans European Network by the end of December 2010.
TMS and UCD are hoping to re-run the course in the early Spring 2011. Applications should be made through Dr Aoife Ahern at UCD. For more information on course content, contact Duncan Lord or Steve Proctor at TMS. The photo shows students involved in the on site workshop as part of Unit 3.
