TMS has recently introduced two NEW training initiatives in order to help clients adopt a more flexible approach to training in these difficult financial times.
Firstly, TMS are offering a non-residential, modular version of the 10 day RoSPA Road Safety Engineering course. This involves delegates attending 3 two day modules, all three of which to be completed within one month. The course content is identical to the full 10 day course. Delegates will be required to attend each of the two day modules and then complete an individually written report based on the case study provided for the delegates during the third module.
The report equates to four days CPD, thus giving a total of ten days CPD for each delegate whose report meets the standard required for assessment by the course tutor.
Completion of the course provides the ten days formal training specified in HD19/03 and IAN152/11 by the Highways Agency for Road Safety Auditors. Safety Audits can only be undertaken on trunk roads and motorways by suitably trained and experienced staff.
Secondly, HD 19/03 and IAN 152/11 also require that Safety Auditors maintain their road safety knowledge base by undertaking two days CPD each year. TMS will be running a series of CPD courses and workshops to achieve this objective.
For the audit workshops, delegates will discuss up to date technical advice referring to the subject area, consider a design stage workshop example provided by TMS, undertake a Stage 3 site visit, and have the opportunity to discuss examples brought along to the course by other delegates. The collision investigation workshop will provide two days experience in analysing a significant collision cluster site in an urban area.
Both the RoSPA Modular course and the CPD workshops can be run in-house for clients on request.
