In March this year, Graham Armstrong of Cambridgeshire County Council became the 500th Local Authority Highway Inspector to successfully complete the TMS modular training course and assessment for Highway Inspectors.
Graham and seven of his colleagues spent four days at the depot in Huntingdon completing the course, which is accredited by Lantra Awards and entitles them to enter their names on the National Register of Highway Inspectors.
Over the last five years, TMS has delivered the course to over 500 Highway Inspectors from more than 40 different local authority areas, with many more in the pipeline.
Phil Cook, Director of TMS, says, “It’s vitally important that local authorities are able to demonstrate that their Highway Inspectors are trained and competent in order to defend their maintenance and inspection policies against legal challenges. TMS are pleased to have been able to provide the training and assessment which helps them to do that.”
