Road Safety Engineering – Assured by RoSPA

Road Safety Audit training and experience in the UK is generally specified either by DMRB GG 119 or by a local highway authority’s own requirements. DMRB GG 119 is mandatory for the Strategic Trunk Road and Motorway network, but is commonly referred to as “good practice” for local highway authorities who do not have their own road safety audit procedures. Many local highway authorities work to the DMRB industry standard by default.

It is generally accepted that 10 days of formal collision investigation or road safety engineering training forms the core initial training for Road Safety Auditors.
