10th - 11th February 2010OverviewThe Department of Transport has launched Manual for Streets as a replacement to DB32 to guide local authorities and developers with respect to local street layouts. The new guide includes radical ideas on street design, visibility requirements, and road safety auditing. A knowledge of Manual for Streets is essential for developers’ consultants and local authority designers working on local road and street layouts, for local authority highway development control officers, and for safety auditors.The course will describe the Manual for Streets contents in detail, and provide an understanding of the safety issues regarding street layout and visibility issues. The concept of Quality Audit will be developed. Learning opportunities will be provided through teaching sessions and group workshops. Topics Covered
