Professional Certificate in Road Safety Audit - Ireland
TMS is pleased to announce the re-run of the new Road Safety Engineering Ireland course, in partnership with University College Dublin, and endorsed by the NRA.
The Professional Certificate in Road Safety Audit takes place at UCD campus and comprises of a series of five two day modules, dates are as follows:
- Module 1 : 16th - 17th May 2012
- Module 2&3: 29th May - 1st June 2012
- Module 4&5: 19th - 22nd June 2012
The training fulfils the requirements set out in the European Commission Directive on Road Infrastructure Safety Management. This directive requires that Safety Auditors undertake an initial road safety engineering training, leading to the award of a Certificate of Competence. The courses therefore not only comprise training (as before) but also examinations and assessed project work.
Whilst the Directive applies specifically to the Trans European Road Network (TERN), the NRA intends that ultimately all road safety auditors undertaking RSAs on national roads in Ireland will need to obtain this qualification.
