Module 4 - Road Safety Officers' Training

Overview:

The course is part of the programme for training Road Safety Officers. The course was devised by the National Staff Training Group and is run by TMS in association with RSN Associates. The course has been modified to reflect London issues and features a number of speakers from London Boroughs.

One of the key elements of the course is to allow delegates to question and reflect on current practices in a non-threatening atmosphere. That includes questioning tutors - who are not there to tell delegates how everything should be done. Delegates will be encouraged to assess their own approaches to road safety issues and how improvements can be made. The key approach is to allow delegates to learn through doing as well as listening - but listening to other delegates is equally as important as listening to the tutors.
