Overview:


This one-day course is designed for practitioners who have a professional interest in the use of traffic regulation orders as a tool for implementing effective traffic management. It covers the basic powers to make orders and the associated statutory notification and consultation procedures. There is also plenty of opportunity to discuss common problems relating to the drafting of orders, the consultation process and the subsequent enforcement of mandatory and prohibitory orders.


Aims and Objectives:

  • To explain the legal basis and statutory procedures for making traffic regulation orders and other types of orders relating to traffic management
  • To discuss those issues that frequently give rise to challenges to traffic regulation orders or subsequent problems with enforcement
