In 2007/2008, 180 people were killed at work and 133,914 other injuries were reported in the UK.

Workplace transport (for example contact with moving machinery, struck by moving objects and vehicles) accidents contributed to 40% of the workplace fatalities in the UK, killing around 73 people and injuring another 22,594.

Accidents involving people being struck by moving vehicles, contributed to 14% of the workplace fatalities, killing around 25 people and injuring another 2,157. This equates to a third (34%) of the workplace transport fatalities. (Source: HSE Statistics on injuries to employees by kind of accident)
