Lusail Expressway, Doha, Qatar, Middle East

TMS were commissioned by the multinational company Aecom, to carry out a preliminary design safety audit on a major highway scheme in Doha, Qatar. This scheme involves the construction of a large expressway, with multi-level junctions, road tunnels and flyovers to provide links to a prestigious development on the bay of Doha.

The site was visited in April/May 2010 by two experienced TMS Road Safety Auditors to gain an understanding of the area and identify safety critical areas. Meetings were held with the Aecom design team and Senior Officers at the Doha Public Works Authority to discuss and clarify issues related to the scheme. 

A comprehensive set of scheme drawings were studied both in the UK and on- site in Doha, and a detailed safety audit report was submitted to the relevant parties.
