Staff secondment - HA Area 7

Background

In July 2009, A-One+ Halcrow's joint venture with Colas and Costain were awarded the Highways Agency's Area 7 MAC contract. The contract covered the HA's roads in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and Rutland.

Staff secondment for 6 months

A-One+ needed temporary help to resource the Safety Studies Team and two Safety Engineers from TMS where seconded to A-One+ for 6 months to assist the team to complete the studies programme.

Example of the work carried out by the TMS staff included: 

• Collision analysis to identify the Top 50 Killed and Serious Injury (KSI) Sites on links
• Collision investigation studies on the Top 50 Junction Collision Cluster Sites.
• Collision analysis to identify locations for the erection of the Shiny Side Up Motorbike Signage
• Represented A-One+ at the Local Authorities Casualty Reduction Partnership Meetings
• Completion of Project Appraisal Reports (PARS) for presentation at Continuous Value Management (CVM) meetings

The secondment contract ended in May 2010.
