Stage 4

Road Safety Audit Stage 4 - Monitoring at 12 months and 36 months

Scene of an accident

Stage 4

Monitoring

During the first year a Highway Improvement Scheme is open to traffic, a check should be kept on the number of personal injury accidents that occur, so that any serious problems can be identified and rectified immediately.

Road Safety Audit Stage 4 accident monitoring reports should be prepared using 12 months and 36 months of accident data from the time the scheme became operational.  This is often referred to as a Stage 4a (12 month monitoring) and Stage 4b (36 month monitoring).

The Stage 4 Road Safety Audits identify any road safety problems indicated by the data analysis and observations made during the site visits.  The Audit reports make recommendations for remedial action which are sent to the client for action.
