The new MfS2 guidelines take the principles set out in Manual for Streets and demonstrate through guidance and case studies how they can be extended beyond residential streets to encompass both urban and rural situations.
The document has been designed to assist local highway and planning authorities as well as their consultants and contractors, to bridge the gap between Manual for Streets and the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges to deliver more contextually sensitive designs for new or existing highways.
Steve Proctor (Contributor) at TMS has been heavily involved in MfS2 along with Phil Jones (Contributor), Andrew Cameron (Contributor), Tim Cuell (Contributor) and Alan Young (Editor).
CIHT are pleased to announce that their latest guidance document, Manual for Streets 2 - Wider Application of the Principles, will be launched through a series of conferences.
