Accessibility Audits of all Electoral Areas

TMS was commissioned by Donegal County Council to carry out accessibility audits on most of the major population centres in County Donegal, including accesses to:

• Public buildings
• Streets and public footpaths
• Recycling Centres
• Public parks and Playgrounds
• Beaches and Shore fronts
• Heritage sites
• Ferry Ports
• Historic graveyards

A detailed examination of all roads, footpaths, buildings and open areas was carried out at all of these outdoor facilities throughout each of the six Donegal Electoral Areas.

In addition to carrying out the audits, TMS auditors engaged in the concurrent stakeholder consultation process, together with Donegal County Council and representatives of various disabled user groups.

The final report identified over 1,650 accessibility issues at 57 sites and included a prioritised plan for implementing remedial measures.
