Appointment by the IHT for TMS to write the new Guidelines for Road Safety Audit

TMS Consultancy has been appointed by the Institution of Highways and Transportation to write the new IHT Guidelines for Road Safety Audit.

This document will update the existing Guideline, which was written in 1996. One of the main focus points will be to provide advice on Safety Auditing for local authorities, following the publication of the Highways Agency Safety Audit Standard in 2003.

The new document will also examine how local authorities should undertake Safety Audits in the context of the "Quality Audits" recommended in the new Manual for Streets, published earlier this year.
