Mark is involved in AIP investigations, road safety auditing, risk assessments, NMU/Accessibility/Cycle audits and offering road safety advice to overseas Clients.
Mark joined TMS in 1997 as a Senior Road Safety Engineer and has more than 20 years experience in the field of Road Safety Engineering. Prior to joining TMS, Mark worked for Coventry City Council primarily as an Engineer in the Traffic Design and Traffic Management teams.
Mark has worked on the design and implementation of a number of traffic calming, safety engineering and speed reduction schemes including public consultation exercises for both TMS and Coventry City Council. He has experience of accident investigation, data analysis and the design of remedial measures for various clients throughout the UK, Ireland and overseas.
These investigations have included cluster sites, mass action sites, route treatments and area wide investigations. In addition to these studies Mark also has an on-going involvement with 'On-The-Spot' collision research in partnership with Loughborough University and contributed to the European Commission's TRACE accident causation research study on behalf of Birmingham University.
Mark has carried out over 700 road safety audits including vulnerable road user audits, cycle audits road safety assessments. He has also carried out a number of work place safety studies in places such as gas processing plants, petrochemical works, water bottling plants and wholesale markets.
Mark manages the AutoCAD capability for TMS and has design experience using AutoCAD based specialist tools including KeyLINES, KeySIGN and KeyACCIDENT.
Outside of work, Mark is keen on ice hockey and contributes articles to the local ice hockey magazine "Ignite" and is involved in the running of the Coventry Blaze English National League team. Mark is also a steward for Coventry City Football Club and the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.
