Gordon Wilkinson

Senior Engineer - MSc, DMS, MCIHT, MCILT

Gordon is involved in the development and delivery of various training courses, AIP investigations, traffic management and Road Safety Audits at TMS.

Gordon joined TMS in 2005 as a Senior Engineer and has over 35 years experience in the field of Traffic Management, Traffic Engineering and Transportation Planning.

Prior to joining TMS, Gordon was Head of Urban Transport Projects at Staffordshire County Council (SCC), responsible for project teams involved in the design and construction of major and minor Highway and Road Safety initiatives throughout the County.

As a member of SCC's Senior Management Team, Gordon has developed excellent communication skills delivering reports to Elected Members, representing the Council at National, and Regional level as well as direct involvement in many local community projects. He was also personally responsible for the development of the County Council's engineering recruitment and training programme.

At TMS, Gordon has continued with his interest in training, having delivered over 150 training courses to date and is directly responsible for the development of training for Development Control Officers and Highway Designers and has a special interest in motorcycle safety. He is a Lantra qualified trainer and an examiner for the IHE's Development Control Course.

Gordon has also been involved in various road safety investigations for clients throughout the UK and has carried out over 100 road safety audits on highway and road safety related schemes.

Outside of work, Gordon is a keen martial artist, and enjoys mountain biking, windsurfing and hill walking.
