Elaine is involved in AIP investigations, road safety auditing, safer routes to school assessments and accessibility auditing for TMS.


Elaine joined TMS in 2003 as a Senior Engineer and has more than 12 years' experience in highways and traffic scheme design.

Prior to joining TMS Elaine has worked for ARUP as a Graduate Engineer and at Warwickshire County Council as a Senior Road Safety Officer.

At TMS Elaine is involved in carryout out AIP investigations, road safety audits, safer route to school assessments, safety assessments, accessibility auditing, the design of AIP remedial measures, and other project work. 

Elaine has experience in traffic signal design using LINSIG and TRANSYT, and has completed accident investigation projects in Leicestershire and South Yorkshire, together with an on-going involvement in an 'On-The-Spot' collision research project in partnership with Loughborough University. She has also completed a risk assessment of the walking routes for all the schools on the Isle Wight as part of their school restructuring programme.

Since 2003, Elaine has completed over 500 road safety audits and is qualified as an audit team leader. Her experience of road safety auditing includes carrying out audits at all stages of major and minor schemes in the UK.

Outside work, Elaine is a keen motorcyclist and cyclist.
