Colin Coleman

Principal Engineer - IEng, FIHE

Colin is involved in transport assessments, traffic management, road safety auditing, risk assessments and training for TMS.

Colin joined TMS in 1995 as a Senior Traffic Engineer and has 45 years experience in the field of Traffic Management and Traffic Engineering.

Prior to joining TMS, Colin worked for Coventry City Council primarily as a Traffic Engineer in the Traffic Management team, but was also seconded to the Strategic Planning Team as their chief transport modeller.

At both TMS and Coventry City Council, Colin has gained wide experience in identifying, designing and implementing highway improvements, traffic management and accident remedial schemes including cluster sites, route studies, mass action sites and area-wide traffic calming schemes.

At TMS, Colin has carried out over 300 road safety audits, with many of these on major road schemes, such as new motorways, dual carriageways and grade separated junctions. His main role over the last ten years has been producing transport assessments to support planning applications for both small and large developments including large retail and residential developments and hospitals.

He has also been seconded to undertake detailed checks for other local authorities on numerous transport assessments and more recently became involved in producing Travel Plans for new developments.

Colin is also involved in training on transport assessment and junction design courses at TMS.

Outside of work, Colin has always been a keen runner and hill walker.
