Andy Coleman

Assistant Engineer - BA (Hons), MCIHT

At TMS, Andy is involved in Road Safety Auditing and Safety Assessments, Transport Assessments and AIP Investigations.

Andy completed his work experience with TMS as a young teenager and came back to the company after his degree study before travelling around the world for 9 months. He re-joined the company in May 2007 as a Graduate Engineer.

At TMS, Andy has a mixed involvement with many aspects of work. Since 2007, he has completed over 300 road safety audits as a team member. His experience of road safety auditing includes audits at all stages of major and minor schemes in the UK, including dual carriageways and grade separated junctions. He has also carried out numerous audits on local schemes including town centre enhancements, shared space schemes, bus and cycle networks, traffic calming and safer routes to school projects.

Andy's knowledge in Transport Impact Assessments is rapidly progressing and has gained most of his knowledge from his father, Colin, a Principal Engineer with TMS.

He also carries out AIP Investigations and is currently working on the On-The-Spot studies in Nottinghamshire. Previous accident studies include route studies in the East Riding of Yorkshire, Sheffield and on Wandsworth Road in Lewisham.

Andy is involved in other project work which includes Safety Assessments, Accessibility Audits and School Keep Clear marking design.
